Talk with voice avatars of real language teachers

Avatalk is live conversation practice: pick an avatar a real teacher built from their own materials, start speaking, and get corrected gently — in the moment, in your target language. Your first 15 minutes are free.

  • Voice-first — you talk, it talks back
  • Replies in a couple of seconds
  • Remembers your goals between lessons

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick an avatar

Browse tutors by language. Every avatar is built from a real teacher's lesson materials — their examples, their method, their style — and carries an Identity verified badge once the creator passes an ID check.

  2. 2

    Talk — actually talk

No flashcards. The avatar greets you first; you answer with your voice and can interrupt at any moment, like on a call. It keeps to one micro-topic at a time and corrects you gently.

  3. 3

    Come back — it remembers

The avatar keeps a learner profile: your level, goals and interests shape the next session. Your first 15 minutes are free, and signing in takes one email.

What is Avatalk?

Avatalk is a catalog of talking AI avatars created by real language teachers. A teacher uploads the materials they actually teach with — PDFs, slides, worksheets — and Avatalk distills them into the avatar's persona and teaching style. The result speaks with a natural synthesized voice and runs a lesson the way its creator would: same examples, same method, same tone.

A session is a live voice conversation, not an exercise feed. The avatar leads: it opens with a question, sticks to one micro-topic at a time, praises what you got right and fixes what you didn't. Beginners get short phrases and tiny hints; from B1 up it switches to full immersion. You can interrupt it mid-sentence and it stops and listens — replies come back in a couple of seconds.

Every learner gets a private profile per avatar — level, goals, interests — that the avatar remembers between sessions. Creators can confirm who they are with a government-ID check and earn the Identity verified badge. Signing in takes one email, your first 15 minutes of conversation are free, and becoming a creator is invite-only while Avatalk is in early access.

Frequently asked questions

How does a lesson on Avatalk work?

You open an avatar's page, press Talk, and speak. The avatar greets you first and leads a live voice conversation: one micro-topic at a time, questions to keep you talking, and gentle corrections along the way. You can interrupt it mid-sentence, exactly like a phone call.

Is Avatalk free to try?

Yes. Sign in with your email — no password, no card — and your first 15 minutes of live conversation are free. That is enough for a real first lesson.

Which languages can I practice?

Right now the catalog lists Spanish and English tutors. The platform also supports German, French, Italian, Dutch and Japanese voices, so new languages appear as soon as creators publish avatars for them.

Whose voice am I hearing?

A natural synthesized voice. The avatar itself — its persona, examples and way of teaching — is distilled from lesson materials uploaded by its creator, a real language teacher.

What does the Identity verified badge mean?

The avatar's creator has passed a government-ID identity check with our verification partner. The documents stay with the verification provider; Avatalk stores only the result.

Will an avatar remember me?

Yes. Each avatar keeps a private learner profile for you — your level, goals and interests — and picks the next conversation up where the last one ended.

How do I become a creator?

Creator access is invite-only while Avatalk is in early access: an administrator sends you an invitation link, you verify your identity, upload your teaching materials, and publish your avatar.
